Semifinal Breakdown

No. 1 Georgetown vs No. 5 Pikeville

There is an argument to be made that the four teams remaining are the four best teams in the Mid-South. Pikeville comes in as the 5-seed, but they have played some really good basketball down final parts of the season and boast the leagues leading scorer in Teddy “Buckets” Parham. Parham is a baller and is coming off of 34pt/8reb/5asst game in the QF’s to help Pikeville take down Shawnee State. Teddy “Bear” along with fellow 1st team MSC selection, Korbin Spencer will look to lead the Bears to another upset tonight vs rival Georgetown. Georgetown is playing their best basketball of the season right now. Georgetown is led by Jake Ohmer and Cam Brooks-Harris. Former All-American, Kyran Jones leads the MSC in RPG and Freshman, Tae Dozier was named the MSC Freshman of the Year. All four of these teams will make the NAIA National Championships, but especially in this rivalry game, you can expect some competitive games as everyone battles for the MSC Title!

No. 2 Freed-Hardeman vs 3 Thomas More

With the first-round upsets in the MSC Touney, both of these teams faced off against double-digit seeds in the MSC QF’s. That led to an 18pt FHU win and a 21pt Thomas More win to set up tonight’s matchup. Reid Jolly, of Thomas More, was named MSC Player of the Year. Jolly has had a phenomenal career. He is joined by Noah Pack, Jacob Jones and Casey George as 1st or 2nd team selections. Freed Hardeman’s, Brandon Thomas, was named a 1st team selection. Ryley McClaran and Hunter Scurlock were both 2nd team selections. We mention all of that to highlight how many good players are in this game. Both of these teams had some struggles this semester, but the top 5 teams in the MSC this season, could compete with any league in the NAIA! FHU swept the season series this year, but you can throw those games out. This game should be an absolute must watch!
