The Daily Dive is your deep dive into the news and notes from around the NAIA Hoops World. Every day we will highlight some of the top headlines, conference updates, player accolades, coaching milestones and more. This used to be our Morning Bullet Points series. We went away from it this year, as others were doing similar things and we didn’t want to step on any toes. At the request of many, we have elected to bring it back for the second half of the season. Feel free to DM us on Twitter (@NAIAHoopsReport) or send an email to naiahoopsreport@gmail.com to recommend stories to be included into this segment.

– Another BIG slate of games on this Saturday. We have a lot of leagues who have four or more teams within a game of 1st place, so every game is even more crucial right now as teams battle for championships and seeding. We actually break down each league on NHR – The Podcast Today. You will want to make sure you take a listen to catch up on each league across the NAIA!

Recap of Yesterdays Games of the Day:

RV Holy Cross 53 @ Governors State 82 (Full Recap)

We expected Governors State to battle CCAC leader Holy Cross in this game, but we didn’t expect them to blow them out. Holy Cross was without some players last night though, including Storm Cook, who leads Holy Cross in PPG. Nonetheless, a great effort by Governors State last night who got 19pts from Payton Harley.

7 Faulkner 85 @ Middle Georgia State 89 (Full Recap)

We didn’t mean to jinx Faulkner with this game, but it just had that feel to it where it was going to be a great one, and it was. A game that was within single digits for most of the game saw MGA make some clutch plays down the stretch to get the win. Jordan Hamlette continued his hot streak for the Eagles as he dropped a team high 21pts in the loss. Josue Passius led the way for MGA with 20pts.

Mayville State 66 @ Dickenson State 58 (Full Recap)

Mayville gets a good road win over Dickenson State last night to set up a big road game for them today against rival Valley City State. A game that will surely impact the NSAA Standings! Latrelle Franklin finished with a team high 15pts in the win for Mayville State.
