Semifinal Breakdown

No. 1 Grace vs No. 4 Marian

Before Marian had some injury woes, this would have been a Top 15 matchup. As it goes though, Marian went a bit cold down the stretch and fell out of the Top 25. The Knights looked sharp in their QF matchup against Bethel though. They cruised to an 11pt win behind 28pts from Christian Harvey. Grace also handled 8-seed Saint Francis with ease. There will be tons of talent on the floor and both of these teams are going to make the NAIA National Championships. Seeding implications are still big though and both teams would love to add CL Tournament Champions to their season resume. This one may come down to the Taeshon Cherry/Elijah Malone battle and which player can get their team some easy buckets in the paint!

No. 3 Huntington vs No. 7 Taylor

Taylor had the upset of the QF’s as they went into Luckey Arena and knocked off Indiana Wesleyan. Jason Hubbard had 24 points and 16 rebounds in the Trojan win. Today though, they face one of the hottest teams in the NAIA in Huntington. Who have now won 10 straight games after their QF win over MVNU. This game features 3 of the CL’s top 5 scorers in Hubbard and then Zach Goodline and Lane Sparks of Huntington. It’s an uphill battle for Taylor in this one as HU but the two teams did split their matchups this season. This is tourney time and, as we know, anything can happen!
