Semifinal Breakdown

No. 2 Thomas vs No. 3 St. Thomas

A neutral court game with the winner, most likely, getting the upper hand on a possible at-large spot if they can’t win the Sun Tournament. St. Thomas is coming off of a barn burner with Warner. A game that saw D’Andre Johnson and Milton Matthews go for 18 and 16 to help push St Thomas to the win. Thomas got the bye into the Sun semis. They did lose to St. Thomas in early February by 17pts, but did beat St Thomas by 15 at home, back in December. This should be a GREAT neutral court matchup with a lot at stake!

No. 1 Southeastern (FL) vs No. 4 Webber International

The 2x Sun Conference Player of the Year,. Riley Minix, makes his 2023 Sun Conference debut tonight. This SEU team had a bad start to the season, but they have really figured things out here down the stretch! A lot of that has to do with the performances that Riley Minix is displaying! SEU won 8 of it’s final 9 games to win the Sun Conference Regular Season. With the only auto-bid coming from the Sun Tournament Winner. SEU still has something to play for here. With as good as numbers as Minix has had, K’Shun Stokes, of WIU has had a big time year as well as he finished 2nd in the Sun in ppg and is coming off of a 21pt performance in the opening round to help get WIU past Keiser. A much needed win by WIU as they had lost 6 straight headed into that game. SEU did sweep WIU this season.
