Quarterfinal Breakdown

#4 LSU Alexandria vs. #5 Louisiana Christian

It’s just a 14-minute drive between the two schools. A fun little rivalry game bright and early this morning as we get the RRAC Tourney started. Jakemin Abney continues to add to his already great career at LSU Alexandria. Kashie Natt and Jadarian Allen area also capable of putting up good numbers in this tourney for LSUA. Louisiana Christian is led by Bailey Hardy who is inside of the Top 10 scorers in the RRAC. How does the 8am tipoff time affect these two? We will see, but LSUA swept the regular season matchups winning by just 3pts and 1pt, so should be a fun one here to start the day off!

#3 Xavier vs. #6 Southwest

Xavier won 6 of their final 7 games and they won the 6 games without their leading scorer, Xavier Reaves. They continue to be really tough defensively this year and will lean on that end of the floor as they try to make a run at a RRAC Tournament Title. Jahvonta Jones and Southwest will be competitive though. This is a team with good talent and have won 3 straight games coming in. These two teams split their regular season games, even though Xavier got them by 18pts at the end of January.

#2 Texas A&M-Texarkana vs. #7 Our Lady of the Lake

Kobe Powell and Tray Spencer are a big reason why Texarkana won the most games this season in school history. They will look to add to that total against OLLU today. This is a fun one as Head Coach Ryan Wall was actually at OLLU before he went to Texarkana. Tommie Law leads OLLU, who is looking to end a 6-game losing streak with the upset win today. These two teams did just play 2 weeks ago, with Texarkana winning 75-68. If they are going to do that they have to slow down that dynamic duo for Texarkana and press out on the shooters, Connor Ouellette and Colby Rasberry!

#1 LSU Shreveport vs. #8 Jarvis Christian

LSU Shreveport has the RRAC Player of the Year in Jalen Brooks. He is one of the absolute best players in the NAIA and a guy who just stuffs the stat sheet every night. He has SEVENT games of 30+ points and put up 43 earlier this season against Jarvis Chrisitan. Not saying Jarvis can’t pull the upset here, but if they are going to do that, they are going to have to figure out a new game plan on how to slow down Jalen Brooks and this Pilot offense!
