Quarterfinal Breakdown

No. 1 Langston vs No. 8 John Brown

If you are just tuning in, this is a Langston squad that won just 1 game last season. The Lions are now your SAC Regular Season Champs and will be hosting the opening round of the NAIA National Championships. They are one of the best defensive teams in the NAIA. Don’t count on John Brown though, this is a team that won 4 of their final 6 games coming into the tourney and Payton Guiot can really go!

No. 2 Wayland Baptist vs No. 7 Southwestern Christian

Tedrick Wolfe, after redshirting last season, is back to being an All-American and one of the best players in the NAIA. This is a team that spent some time in the Top 15 in the NAIA before hitting a rough patch in December. WBU has won 12 of 13 games now including a win over Langston. Southwestern Christian, as they have all season long, has played two tough games against Wayland. The last game was just a 6pt contest and Luiz Machado Jr. is 2nd in the SAC in scoring!

No. 3 Oklahoma City vs No. 6 Texas Wesleyan

Unfortunately, for OCU, this isn’t your typical home game, as their home court was flooded and now they have had to play their home games at other arenas. The Freshman, Aver Jackson has been spectacular though and this is a talented and well coached team. Tonight they face off against Akili Vining who is one of the best players in the league. These two teams split their games during the regular season with both games being under 10pt wins.

No. 5 SAGU vs No. 4 USAO

Samkelo Cele for USAO has been on a terror with four straight games of 22+ pts. USAO has also won 5 of their past 6 games. Cortland Blake for SAGU is also having a great season as well. These two teams also split their regular season games, as it went for most of the SAC teams as they beat each other up all season. These are two teams who are much better than their records and this should be a big time game!
