NAIA Schedule & Links, Games of the Day, Five Players to Watch: Feb. 5th

Friday, February 5th NAIA Games
Games of the Day:
23 Stillman @ RV William Carey 7pm ETÂ Live VideoÂ
William Carey will look to knock off their 2nd ranked team this week tonight. Coach Steve Knight is one of the best in the NAIA and has his team playing some great basketball right now. Stillman is coming to town tonight with an 8-1 record. They too have been playing some great basketball and will look to pad their lead in the SSAC West with a win.
William Jessup @ 13 The Master’s 5pm PTÂ Live Video
Really like this matchup today. We haven’t seen either team in a couple weeks now, but both have some good talent! We believe Myles Corey is the best Freshman in the country. However, this William Jessup team plays a tough road contest tonight so look for Corey and Storey-Way to take turns putting the Warriors on their back to try and get the win. The Master’s isn’t short on talent themselves. Jordan Starr and Johnny McWilliams will look to control the game and protect their home court for The Master’s tonight.
Mayville State @ Bellevue 7:30pm CTÂ Live Video
Big matchup for two teams trying to win the NorthStar Regular Season Title. Both of these teams, along with Valley City State, are currently tied for 1st place. This game is big in terms of seeding for the NSAA Tournament and for the chance to remain in at least a share of 1st place in the NSAA Standings. This game should be a lot of fun tonight!

Five Players To Watch

– 8th in the NAIA in 3FG made per game with 3.714
– 28th in the NAIA in PPG at 20.57
– 32nd in the NAIA in SPG with 2.143
– 33rd in the NAIA in 3FG% at 49.1%
Listen, when you have young talent, you highlight them as much as possible. Myles Corey is legit and is going to have an awesome career at William Jessup. The Freshman has done well in games against D1 opponents, so he’ll be ready tonight as the Warriors hit the road tonight in conference play!

– 17th in the NAIA in APG with 5.44
– 33rd in the NAIA in DRPG with 6.556
Starr has filled up the stat sheet every game this season. He is the 2nd leading scorer for the Mustangs and leads them in both assists and steals per game. About the only thing he isn’t doing well this year is shooting the 3. Other than that Starr has been great for the Mustangs!

– 15th in the NAIA in ORPG with 3.429
– 34th in the NAIA in RPG with 8.857
While the Freshman Myles Corey has been a stud this year for the Warriors, Storey-Way has also been very good for William Jessup. He has scored in double figures in all 7 of the Warriors games this season. He is coming off of a 20pt outing against Life Pacific.Â

– 37th in the NAIA in Total Assists
– 48th in the NAIA in Total Points
– 6th in the NorthStar in PPG with 14.08
Â
Bellevue plays at a bit of a slower pace, so King’s PPG numbers may not seem high, but he has been great for Bellevue. Leading them in PPG, APG and SPG this season. The Bruins have a big one at home tonight and Jemeil King will be looked upon a lot tonight!

– 16th in the NAIA in PPG at 22.0
– 16th in the NAIA in SPG at 2.44
– 18th in the NAIA in ORPG at 3.33
– 31st in the NAIA in 3FGM per game with 3.11
Petty has been electric this season. He fills the stat sheet and is a tough kid with a good motor. He truly competes his tail off on every possession. He will need to do more of it tonight as they hit the road to face a William Carey team that is playing really well right now!
