NAIA Schedule & Links to Watch, Games of the Day, Five Players to Watch: Jan. 25th

Monday, January 25th NAIA Games
Games of the Day:
Southwestern Christian @ 14 MACU 6pm CTÂ Live Video
MACU is 4-2 overall, but is 0-2 against NAIA programs. Including an earlier loss to Southwestern Christian. Tonight they will look to avenge that loss and get their first NAIA win. A loss could mean MACU drops out of the Top 25 on Wednesday. SCU has won 3 of it’s last 4 games. They have to go on the road tonight, but former MACU Assistant and current SCU Head Coach Brandon Rollins continues to get the Eagles moving in the right direction in year two at the helm and will look to move to 2-0 on the season against his former team.

A rivalry game between two storied programs out in the KCAC. Southwestern has started to climb the KCAC standings thanks in part to winning five of their last six games. They can climb into a tie for 2nd place tonight with a win. OKWU has won 9 of it’s last 11 games. They are the preseason favorites in the league. This should be a great matchup between two well coached teams.
16 Martin Methodist @ RV Freed-Hardeman 8pm ETÂ Live Video
Both newcomers to the Mid-South this season. Both were picked to finish in the bottom three teams in the league. Both have surpassed those projections this season and got off to fast starts. However, it has been a bit of a bumpy road these past two weeks for both teams. Both could really use a win. If FHU is healthy, they can compete with everyone in the league, but this is a must win for both teams!

Five Players To Watch

Averaging 10.42ppg, 3.92rpg, 3.8apg
– While Tedrick Wolfe may be the best scorer on this CBC squad, Johnson has put up some great stat lines here lately. Coming off of a 20T loss, you expect this CBC team to be fired up. Look for Tajuan to fill up the stat sheet again tonight.

Averaging 14.29ppg, 4.2rpg, 3.0apg, 1.5spg
– The Freshman has been big in the absence of Geoffrey Salas. He has given this Builder team a spark and could be the KCAC Freshman of the Year!

– 6th in the SAC in scoring (16.8)
– 2nd in the SAC in RPG (9.4)
Jones is coming off of a 2nd Team All-Sac and SAC All-Tournament team season. He has stepped up his game this year to lead MACU in scoring. The big guard is a load to guard and to keep off the glass.

Needs no introduction.
– Leads the NAIA in scoring @ 29.11ppg and total points scored (644)
– 3rd in the NAIA in total Assists 106
– 11th in NAIA in total Steals 37
– 12th in NAIA in total Rebounds 160
– He is the reigning NAIA DII NPOY
– He has scored 3,000+ career points
Kyle Mangas is a flat stud and continues to be a must watch every night.Â

– 2nd in the KCAC in FG% @ 52%
– 7th in the KCAC in PPG @ 16.73.
– 10th in the KCAC in RPG @ 7.07
The Sophomore is having an All-KCAC type season and continues to play well in league play. He is coming off one of his lowest outputs of the season. Will need a bounce back game on the road tonight.
