(1)Georgetown (Ky)- The Tigers had the entire NAIA basketball landscape at a stand still on Monday night, as the team led by one point at halftime against Midway (Ky) and squeaked by winning by six points. The team also took care of West Virginia University Tech on Friday to go 2-0 on the week. The team is off until the conference opener at Pikeville (Ky) on the 19th.

(15) University of the Cumberlands (Ky)-  The Patriots took care of business this week, going 3-0 and winning each game by 20+. The team took down Milligan (Tenn) by 27 on Tuesday, Union (Ky) by 33 on Friday, and Simmons (Ky) by 25 on Saturday. The team will host Simmons again on Saturday.

(RV) Thomas More (Ky)- Idle. The Saints are back in action on Wednesday vs Marian (Ind).

Shawnee State (Ohio)- The Bears are set to open their season on Tuesday vs Ohio Christian. The team will also face Huntington University (Ind) on Friday and Grace College (Ind) on Saturday in the Cancer Care Classic hosted by Grace College.

Campbellsville (Ky)- The Tigers went 2-1 on the week, as they took care of Kentucky Christian and Simmons (Ky) and fell to Union (Ky). The team takes on IU Southeast (Ind) on the road on Friday.

Pikeville (Ky)- The Bears handle Rio Grande by 22 on Friday, and will be back in action on the 19th for the conference opener vs Georgetown (Ky).

Life (Ga)- The Runnin’ Eagles survived a tough one on Saturday, as they got by Bryan College (Tenn) by two points in overtime. The team is back in action on the 19th for the conference opener vs Shawnee State (Ohio).

Lindsey Wilson (Ky)-  Idle. The Blue Raiders have their season opener in the Martin Methodist Classic on Friday vs Philander Smith (Ark) on Friday and Williams Baptist (Ark) on Saturday.

Cumberland (Tenn)- Idle. The Phoenix open their season on Saturday vs Asbury (Ky).

Bethel (Tenn)- Idle. The Wildcats have an away matchup with Oakland City University on Tuesday, and a home matchup with them on Friday. The team concludes their week vs Blue Mountain (Miss) on Saturday.

Freed-Hardeman (Tenn)- The Lions got their season started with a 40-point dismantling of Blue Mountain (Miss) as the team put 104 points on the board. The team is back in action this week in the Christian College Classic against Crowley’s Ridge on Thursday and Florida College on Saturday.

Martin Methodist (Tenn)- The Redhawks started their season on the right note, with a win over Brescia (Ky) on Saturday. The team is back in action this week in the Martin Methodist Classic Friday vs Williams Baptist (Ark) and Philander Smith (Ark) on Saturday.

Wright’s Wonder Rankings

(1)Georgetown (Ky)- Though the Tigers had a near slip-up in their season opener, they remain the team to beat in the MSC. They looked back to normal against WVU Tech on Friday, but as conference play approaches I expect the team to be on their P’s and Q’s when it comes to consistency and showing up to play each game the same.

(15) University of the Cumberlands- The Patriots made these rankings hard on me this week, as the Patriots are the standout team of the week in my opinion, picking up three 20+ point wins. As conference play approaches, the team looks sharp and ready to make a statement in the MSC.

(RV) Thomas More (Ky)- The Saints have an impressive win vs Taylor (Ind), and I look forward to their matchup with Marian (Ind) this week.

Life (Ga)- The Runnin’ Eagles remained unbeaten this past week, and they showed they can win tough games, which is key in the MSC.

Shawnee State- A lot of eyes are on the Bears this week as they have two potentially tough matchups vs Huntington (Ind) and Grace College (Ind) this weekend.

Pikeville (Ky)- The Bears gave a solid performance to get to 1-0 on the season. This is not the Bears first rodeo in the MSC, and I expect them to be ready for their matchup vs Georgetown (Ky) on the 19th.

Freed-Hardeman (Tenn)- The Lions made a statement and left no doubt they were the better team is their season opener win over Blue Mountain (Miss). The team showed a balanced attack on offense and defense, and won big to start the season. I will be Interested to see their matchup vs Florida College on Saturday.

Campbellsville- The Tigers have a big matchup vs IU Southeast on Friday, and I’m interested to see they respond from their loss to Union (Ky).

Lindsey Wilson- I expect the Blue Raiders to handle business this weekend vs Philander SMith (Ark) and WIlliams Baptist (Ark) before opening conference play.

Bethel (Tenn)- The Wildcats have some high expectations as they have some key non-conference matchups leading up to their first taste of MSC play.

Cumberland (Tenn)- A lot of people are looking to see what the Phoenix have in store this season. Saturday’s matchup vs Asbury (Ky) is the lone contest before conference play for the Phoenix.

Martin Methodist (Tenn)- The Redhawks had a solid win over Brescia (Ky) on Saturday. A lot of eyes around the conference will be on them this weekend vs Williams Baptist (Ark) and Philander Smith (Ark).
