Quarterfinals Breakdown

#4 Dalton State vs. #5 Stillman

Two very interesting teams who still need wins. Unfortunately, for Stillman, they lost 5 of their final 8 games of the season when they needed wins. It hurt their bubble chances and are now, most likely, needing to win the SSAC title to extend their season. Dalton State, like Stillman, didn’t have a strong finish to the regular season as they lost 4 of their final 6 ball games. This should be a fun battle between two teams who are looking to extend their seasons!

#8 Middle Georgia vs. #1 Loyola

Jalen Galloway was an All-American at College of Idaho. He transferred to Loyola and came off the bench last year on a team that won a National Title. Now, Langston is putting up All-American type numbers again and helped lead Loyola to a Regular Season SSAC Title. MGA, led by Brice Martin, played Loyola to a 2pt game earlier this season. However, the last time these two met up, Loyola rolled to a 27pt victory. A neutral court game should help MGA in this one, but they are going to have to slow down Jalen Galloway and company to pull off this upset!

#7 Life vs. #2 Faulkner

CJ Hines has already put together a heck of a career and he is just a sophomore. He would no doubt love to add a SSAC Tournament Title to his resume. Faulkner were the SSAC Regular Season Co-Champions and are maybe playing better than anyone else in the league right now. Life, well plain and simple, the Eagles win this game, and they will have added another big resume win and should get into the NAIA National Championships. If they lose, they will be really nervous come selection show time. Mohamed Elgohary dropped 24pts in the Opening Round and if Life is going to pull the upset here, they will need another big game out of him. Life has beaten Faulkner already this season, so this should be a good game!

#3 Mobile vs. #6 Blue Mountain Christian

Mobile is the most likely team from the SSAC to get an at-large slot. This is a tough team, who has two of the Top 10 scorers in the league in Ezra McKenna and DaMariee Jones. They also have gotten great play out of Corien Pooh Frazier. They may be more comfortably on the IN line if they hadn’t dropped 3 of their final 5 games, but this is still a good Mobile team who, can help themselves with a big win today. It won’t be easy though as Blue Mountain really matches up well with Mobile. BMC lost by 4pts at home to Mobile but beat Mobile by 9 earlier this month. Ryan Sanders has given Mobile fits this season. If BMC is going to get the win today, it will be because of another big outing for Sanders!
