Opening Round Breakdown

No. 8 Middle Georgia vs No. 9 Talladega

Brice Martin and Middle Georgia will look to take down Keshawn Pegues and Talladega. This is an unique matchup that pins two teams averaging less than 70ppg. Dega leads the SSAC in fewest points given up on defense per game. A lot of that is because of the tempo they play at. These two teams have already played two really close games this season, with each taking the win on their home court. Should be another closely contested contest this afternoon.

No. 7 Life vs No. 10 Brewton-Parker

Life is in an interesting position as their analytics are actually fairly decent, but they lost the tiebreakers and slid to the 7-seed in the SSAC Tourney. That may help them, if they can win, to get that extra win. However, any early exits by bubble teams can also work against you. Life is led by the Johsua Ward/Mohamed Elgohary duo. Brewton Parker counters with Lance Smith who sits 4th in the SSAC in scoring. These two teams split their regular season games with each winning on their home floor. They last met 11 days ago with Life winning 65-63 in a thriller!
