Was another small Monday slate. A bit of a calm before the storm this week as we have a lot of conference matchups that fill the week up! We had a lot of it detailed in our ‘Road to Muni’ Podcast for this week, unfortunately, the audio download never happened, so we weren’t able to edit and publish. We will be back up and running next Monday though, so stay tuned!

Store Closing Soon

Thank you to ALL of you who have purchased items in our store. If you haven’t bought yet, no problem, the store is still open, but it does close on Thursday at Midnight. It’s a great Christmas present or stocking stuffer for your favorite NAIA player or fan! For us, it’s always cool to be able to work with and help out our former interns. We are proud of all of our former help, who have moved onto bigger and better things! One of those former interns, Brian, is now in athletic sales out in Iowa for Iowa Sports Supply, so if you are looking for new gear, or equipment let us know and we can get you in touch with him!

Top Headlines

  • For those that missed it, LSU Shreveport had their 7th Annual Champions of Character game yesterday. It’s a unique game, that they play in the morning and bus in over 750 area students for the game. It’s a really cool environment and it’s great for both the younger kids and for the players!

Rankings

The NAIA Conference Ratings are out for the men. The Women, we are guessing, will be posted sometime this morning.

We also posted our own Men’s Top 25:

Game of the Day Recaps

With the small slate, we just had 1 game of the day each, but they were both good ones!

Men

RV Evangel 82 – No. 13 Science & Arts (OK) – 71

  • Evangel with back-to-back impressive Top 15 wins as they defeated USAO last night. Just days after knocking off No. 4 Oklahoma Wesleyan. This is an Evangel squad we were high on headed into last year’s national tournament. Unfortunately, they were just 2-26 from 3pt line in the opening round and lost on a last second shot. This year, the Valor aren’t as dependent on the 3pt line. Josh Pritchett is playing at an All-American level thus far and the Valor, as we have mentioned, are so well coached by Bert Capel. A team to keep an eye on as they have made some early season noise!

Women

Ave Maria 73 – Webber International 63

  • Speaking of some early season noise, The Gyrenes are making their own early season noise as well. Last night they knocked off the Sun Conf preseason favorites, Webber International. They now have wins over the top two favorites for The Sun Conference crown. Last season’s Sun Conf. Coach of the Year, Alex Moorehead, is a heck of a coach, and is proving it once again!

Milestones

  • The Crossroads League, where there is a new 2,000pt scorer every year! This time it is Antwaan Cushingberry who joines the club. Congrats Cush!
  • Congrats to all of the players who joined the 1,000pt scorers club this past weekend!
  • A BIG congrats to Central Methodist Women’s Head Coach, Mike Davis, on getting career win No. 750!!
  • MVNU Head Coach, Ronai got career win No. 150!
