Trying to figure out the Georgetown Tigers is tough at times, but we do know one thing, you still shouldn’t bet against this team! The Tigers lost 3 of their last 4 games and while they weren’t fully healthy in those games, they also didn’t look like the same team that was locked in defensively in the middle of the season. This is mostly a young group, but super talented. You can bet with a couple weeks off now, that Chris Briggs will have this team back in top shape mentally and ready to go. Kyran Jones is really good, but if Georgetown is going to win this Pod they will need more consistent play from Chucky Wilson and Derrin Boyd.

Keiser was actually our pick to win The Sun Conference Tournament. We like what Coach Chief Bryant has going with the Eagles. They have won 8 of their last 9 games now and are playing with a lot of confidence. CoreVon Lott can fill it up and it will be interesting to see GTown’s game plan to take him away. If the Eagles are going to beat Georgetown they are going to have to hit the glass hard and find a way to slow down Kyran Jones.

Stillman didn’t play their 1st game until January, but Trey Petty and company made a big splash in Game 1 and haven’t looked back since. They won the SSAC West and made it all the way to the SSAC Tournament Championship game. You have to have good guard play to win in the post-season and Stillman has that with Petty and Derrin Merriweather! Matchups matter in the tournament, two different game plans depending on who wins the opening round!

Winner of #2 Georgetown vs #3 Keiser
This is an interesting Pod. While Keiser will be trying to help prove that The Sun Conference is better then they get credit for, they get a very tough draw with a Georgetown team that has been a Top 20 team all season long. CoreVon Lott is really fun to watch and can really fill it up, but this Georgetown team is deeper and more talented. It’s going to be an interesting game from a strategic and countering standpoint. Keiser will bring the energy and won’t play afraid in this game.
Stillman has played 19 games since January 1st. The gap between the SSAC Tournament and their game on Saturday is the 1st real break they have had since. This is a tough group, but just like we are watching how the teams who haven’t played a ton of games, and how that affects them, we are also interested to see if Stillman has any tired legs from playing so many games in a short period of time!
There are a lot of stud players in this Pod. Kyran Jones is a monster and his motor never stops. Trey Petty is explosive and will be all over the stat sheet. CoreVon Lott is an electric scorer. All of these players are so different, but have such big impacts on winning games. Going to be interesting to watch to see which player can put their team on their backs in times of need and help lead their team to Kansas City!
