Sunday, January 31st NAIA Games

Games of the Day:

Vanguard @ Saint Katherine Noon PT Live Video

Both of these teams played last night to a 1pt game with Vanguard coming out victorious at home. Today they switch sites as USK will now host. With the excitement of last nights game, you can expect both teams to be amped up again today for an early tip!

MSU Northern @ 10 Providence 1pm MT Live Video

MSU-Northern pulled off the upset over #10 Providence last night. They will look to do the same today. Providence is still running away with the Frontier Conference lead right now. They hold a 4 game lead still as last night was their first loss of the season. They will look to bounce back today.

Concordia Ann Arbor @ Lourdes 3pm ET Live Video

The WHAC continues on and we get a battle of two teams who are undefeated still in the WHAC standings. Lourdes has been pretty good at home these past few two years, but Concordia is coming in with a lot of confidence.

Five Players To Watch

#3 Thomas Hronis 6’0 G Concordia Ann Arbor

– Leads the NAIA in 3pt FGM per game with 5.0

– 36th in 3FG%, shooting 46%

– 4th in the WHAC in scoring at 19.29ppg

Thomas is one of the best pure shooters in the county as he has started off his season red hot from behind the arc.

#1 Andre Johnson 6’0 G Rochester

– 11th in NAIA in FT% at 91%

– 38th in NAIA in SPG at 2.0

– 6th in the WHAC in scoring at 17.33ppg

Andre has been really good through the first 3 games of the season. He has gone for 18, 15 and 19 points and hasn’t began to shoot the ball well yet. If he can get the 3ball to fall more consistently his numbers will continue to climb.

#1 Grant Smith 6’6 G Indiana Tech

14th in the WHAC in scoring at 14.28ppg

– 8th in the WHAC in SPG at 1.61

– 13th in the WHAC in APG at 2.94

Grant has had some big games this season for Indiana Tech, including coming off of a 27pt, 4reb, 3asst performance against Aquinas. Grant will look to carry that momentum into todays game.

#11 Clif Snow 6’6 F Lourdes

Leads Lourdes in

PPG – 14.86

APG – 3.29

SPG – 1.29

BPG – .56

Lourdes only averages 77.9ppg, so his stats aren’t as high as others in the league, but Snow is one of the best players in the WHAC! The Forward is a tough matchup night in and night out.

#21 Virgil Walker Jr 6’7 F Rochester

– 25th in NAIA in Defensive RPG with 7.0

– 38th in NAIA SPG with 2.0

– 39th in NAIA in RPG with 8.6, leads the WHAC!

Virgil was an NAIA All-American at Graceland last season. He is dawning a new uniform this year, but has still been dominant on the glass. He is currently averaging 14.33ppg and 8.6rpg.
