American Midwest Conference

March 3-9, 2020 Hosted by higher seed Tournament Page | Watch Live

  • Best Bet To Win It: Central Baptist and Park. AMC Regular Season Co-Champions. This league is actually wide open, and we wouldn’t be surprised if there were a few 1st round upsets here! CBC has been the most consistent team in the AMC and have already locked up their bid to the National Tournament. Jason Kline holds the all-time coaching wins record at Park, and you can believe they will be ready for the AMC Tournament.
  • Best 1st Rd Matchup: #3 Harris-Stowe vs #6 Lyon. Lyon was actually sitting near the top of the conference to start February, but lost 4 of it’s last 7 games. A team who is much better then how they finished the regular season. Harris-Stowe has the AMC Player of the Year in Deshawn Munson, who has won 9 AMC Conference POW awards, and has 8 Triple-Doubles on the year. A kid who flies under the radar nationally, for the numbers he has put up this season!
  • Dark Horse Team to Watch Out For: Freed-Hardeman. Not sure there is a real dark horse in the AMC, as everyone was grouped so closely together in the standings. Conference Tournament is a new test, but 1st year head coach Drew Stutts has done a great job with this team, and we will stick with them.
  • 2 Bid League:
    • Regular Season Champs: Central Baptist
    • Tournament Champ: TBD

Frontier Conference

March 3-9, 2020 Hosted by higher seed
Tournament Page | Watch Live

  • Best Bet To Win It: Lewis-Clark St. This will be the 4th time the teams in the Frontier will play one another. Lewis-Clark got tripped up a bit in round 3 of the regular season matchups, but they are too well coached to think they aren’t the favorites! The format of the conference tournament also favors them. They get a 1st round bye, then they play whoever is the lowest seed remaining in the Semifinals.
  • Best 1st Rd Matchup: #5 MSU-Northern @ #4 Montana Tech. MSU-Northern won 2 of the 3 matchups this season, including two in a row. Montana Tech gets to play at home, and
  • Dark Horse Team To Win It: #4 Montana Tech. Have won four straight coming into tournament, and the Ore Diggers, have had success against the upper teams in the Frontier. Sindou Diallo has been a stud for Montana Tech this season, and him and Taylor England will look to will the Ore Diggers to a Frontier Tournament Championship.
  • 1 Bid League:
    • Tournament Champion: TBD

Golden State Athletic Conference

March 5-7, 2020 Hosted by higher seed
Tournament Page | Watch Live

  • Best Bet To Win It: Westmont. A team that has been dangerous all season long. Led by Abram Carrasco and his 18.8ppg|4.2rpg|4.7apg. This team has plenty of other fire power, and despite losing 2 of their last 3 games entering the tournament, they are still the favorite to win the GSAC.
  • Best 1st Rd Matchup: #3 The Master’s vs #6 Hope International. Hope International has had some road woes this season, coming in with a 5-6 record. They did battle The Master’s to a 1 point game in the middle of February. Tim Soares was able to limit Josh Powell-Davis in the first matchup to just 2 points. If the Mustangs want to win, they will have to limit the Hope BIG man again.
  • Dark Horse To Win It: #4 Arizona Christian. A team with a lot of fire power with Shane Carney 15.2ppg, De’Ron Kyle 14.6ppg, and O’Shae Williams 13.6ppg are the trio to watch with this group. They are very capable of putting together 3 hot games in a row to win the GSAC Tournament Title.
  • Two Bid League:
    • Regular Season Champion: Westmont
    • Tournament Champion: TBD

Gulf Coast Athletic Conference

March 4-8, 2020 Hosted by Xavier (La.) and Dillard (La.) | New Orleans Convocation Center | New Orleans, La.
Tournament Page | Watch Live

  • Best Bet To Win It: Xavier. They haven’t won the conference tournament since 1996, and are just 1-11 at National Tournament in last 15 years, but we love this XULA squad! Returning All-Americans Rayshawn Mart and William Lloyd are the catalyst of this Xavier squad, and the guys around them are tough as nails.
  • Best 1st RD Mathup: #4 Edward Waters vs #5 Dillard. EWC won the tiebreaker giving the the 4 seed and allowing them to host the 1st round game. The two split their regular season matchups, but this EWC squad has been really good at home. Dillard has some great scorers and have two guys, Tyrell Alcorn (1st) and Malik Amos (8th), who rank in the Top 10 of 3 pointers made this season. The duo will try to extend their season with a big win.
  • Dark Horse Team To Win It: #4 Edward Waters. EWC has proven they can beat the top teams in the league. They have struggled on the road this season, but with an opening round game at home, they can play spoiler if they get to New Orleans.
  • One Bid League:
    • Tournament Champion: TBD

Heart of America Athletic Conference

  • Favorite To Win It: #1 William Penn. This team was already pretty good with Dexter Hood, who is one of the best 2-way players in the country, and Kamari Newman, who is a great shooter. Then, at semester, they added Kevion Blaylock to the mix, who is now averaging a double-double with 16.6ppg and 11.2rpg. The Statesmen play fast, and will get to host the tournament as long as they keep winning.
  • Best 1st RD Matchup: #4 MidAmerica Nazarene vs #5 Benedictine. Two teams who have been flirting around near the Top 25 this season. MidAm is one of the toughest places to play, and so they will be favored at home. However, this BC team is tough, and smart, and the two just played to a 3 point game at MidAm last week. Expect this game to be back and forth for 40 minutes.
  • Dark Horse Team To Win It: #4 MidAmerica Nazarene. Freshman Anthony Brown has been spectacular this season when we have seen him. He’s averaging 16.2ppg with 5.4rpg. As good as he has been, it’s the seniors Dakota Quinn and Dante Scroggins who you expect to lead the charge to not see their careers end. Add in legendary coach Rocky Lamar, and you have a good formula for some post-season success.
  • 2 Bid League:
    • Regular Season Champion: William Penn
    • Tournament Champion: TBD

Mid-South Conference

March 3-9, 2020 Hosted by Bowling Green High School | Bowling Green High School Arena
Tournament Page | Watch Live

  • Favorite To Win It: #1 Georgetown. The defending National Champions and a team who spent most of this season as the #1 ranked team in the county. They have a senior class who is as good as any in the country, and plenty of fire power with newcomers Jake Ohmer (17.1ppg) and Nico Clareth (16.5ppg). This team is loaded and will be one of the favorites at the DI National Tournament, not just the Mid-South Tournament.
  • Best 1st RD Matchup: #3 Thomas More vs #6 Lindsey Wilson. Thomas More has found success in their first year of being in the Mid-South Conference, but they split the regular season matchup with Lindsey Wilson. These are two teams who matchup well against each other.
  • Dark Horse Team To Win It: #5 Campbellsville. The Tigers ended the regular season by going TO #1 Georgetown and TO # 14 Cumberlands (KY) and walking away with victories. This team has a lot of talent, but it all starts with Taiveyhon Mason. The guard can really score the ball, and if his 35 point showing on Georgetown is any indicator, he is locked and loaded for the Mid-South Tournament.
  • One Bid League:
    • Tournament Champion: TBD

Red River Athletic Conference

March 5-7, 2020 Hosted by LSU Alexandria (La.) | Rapides Coliseum
Tournament Page | Watch Live

  • Favorite to Win It: #2 LSU-Shreveport. The RRAC tournament looks to mostly be a two horse race between #1 LSU-Alexandria and #2 LSU-Shreveport. We favored LSU-S because they have won 12 straight games, including a 110-80 drubbing of LSU-A just a couple games ago. Tra’Quan Knight for LSU-S is averaging 24ppg, and is one of the most explosive players in the country. The Pilots have a high powered offense that produces a lot of highlight real plays.
  • Best 1st RD Matchup: #3 Southwest vs #6 Texas A&M Texarkana. 1st year head coaches for both programs, and Texarkana is in it’s inaugural season as a program. However, Ryan Wall knows the RRAC, as he was formerly the head coach at Our Lady of The Lake, where he found success. Cory Hitchcock has done a great job in his first season at the helm for the University of the Southwest as he led the Mustangs to the 2nd most conference wins in program history. A lot of story lines in this one, and it should be a great game to watch.
  • Dark Horse Team To Win It: Anyone outside of LSU-A and LSU-S. Those two programs have completely dominated the rest of the league with only Huston-Tillotson getting a win against either one.
  • Two Bid League:
    • Regular Season Champion: LSU-Alexandria
    • Tournament Champion: TBD

Sooner Athletic Conference

March 3-7, 2020 | Hosted by higher seed (Quarterfinals); Wayland Baptist (Texas) (Semifinal & Championship) | Hutcherson Center Tournament Page | Watch Live

  • Favorite To Win It: #1 Mid-America Christian. This is a team that just took over as the #1 team in NAIA DI. They are led by Ashford Golden’s 17.2ppg, 7.1rpg, but are actually a well balanced team who can beat you from multiple angles. This MACU squad can really shoot the 3, and are really fun to watch.
  • Best 1st RD Matchup: #5 Wayland Baptist at #4 SAGU. SAGU has lost 3 of it’s last 4 games, but two were in OT, 1 in 2OT, and the 3rd loss was by just 5 points to Texas Wesleyan. SAGU has beaten Wayland Baptist twice already this season, so Wayland will be looking for some revenge in the 1st round of the SAC Tournament.
  • Dark Horse Team To Win It: #6 Science and Arts (OK). USAO found their grove towards the end of the season as they enter the SAC Tournament on a 4 game win streak. The Drovers are led by Dylan Causwell with 18.1ppg, and 9rpg. Causwell has put together back to back games of 31 points, 7 rebounds, and a 26 point, 8 rebound performance to finish the regular season. Head Coach Chris Francis has put together some unbelievable memories both in the SAC Tournament and the National Tournament, and this Drover team can’t be counted out.
  • Two Bid League:
    • Regular Season Champions: Mid-America Christian
    • Tournament Champion: TBD

Southern States Athletic Conference

March 4-7, 2020 Hosted at Cramton Bowl Multiplex
Tournament Page | Watch Live

  • Favorite To Win It: #1 Faulkner. Hard to go against a team that has won 17 straight games, and that we have been hyping up for awhile now. This Faulkner squad is tough, and the combo of CJ Williamson and Milan Skundric have been impressive this season. This is a team that will be a team to watch in KC, no matter what happens in the SSAC Tournament.
  • Best 1st RD Matchup: #4 Loyola vs #5 Bethel (TN). Bethel just beat Loyola 106-93 last week, and lost earlier in the year 96-91. This should be another game with a lot of points, and the two teams exchanging blows!
  • Dark Horse Team To Win It: #7 William Carey. A NAIA DI Final Four team last season, WCU has some big wins on the season. Their problem has been putting a string of wins together all at once. They have lost 5 of 6 games coming into the tournament, but if they can figure things out, and get back on track, they can play with anyone.
  • Two Bid League:
    • Regular Season Champion: Faulkner
    • Tournament Champion: TBD
