What the index measures

NHR RPI will use the published NAIA men’s basketball weighting: 30% team winning percentage, 50% opponents’ winning percentage and 20% opponents’ opponents’ winning percentage. The linked selection policy is dated 2025–26 and remains the policy linked from the current Coaches Corner.

This is an independent NHR calculation, not an official NAIA RPI release or a claim of exact replication. Opponent treatment, repeated matchups and rounding conventions are being validated before numerical rankings are released.

Which games count

  • Only verified, completed, countable games between NAIA teams will enter this index.
  • Scrimmages and exhibition games are excluded.
  • Games with an unclear designation or incomplete results are held out until verified.
  • A score appearing in an aggregate statistics table is not enough to establish that a game counts.

When rankings are available

The index will show each team’s rank, record, RPI, strength of schedule and component winning percentages, together with the data cutoff and coverage status. No sample or preseason guesswork will be presented as a live computed ranking.
