Four hundred wins. Three ranked showdowns. And plenty to talk about after another full Saturday of NAIA hoops!
Chris Briggs reached a major milestone at Georgetown, Oklahoma Wesleyan delivered one of the day’s loudest results, and Arizona Christian and The Master’s added ranked wins of their own. We also had bounce-back performances, another big day for Talladega and an overtime finish in Kansas.
Let’s get into it!
Briggs gets No. 400
No. 7 Georgetown 64, Park 58
Saturday’s win meant a little more for Georgetown. The Tigers closed the Remington Williams Invitational with a 64–58 victory over Park, giving Chris Briggs his 400th career win. Georgetown College Athletics confirmed the milestone after the game.
For the Tigers, it was also a winning response to Friday’s two-point loss to LSU Shreveport. For Briggs, it was a moment worth stopping to appreciate in the middle of an opening stretch that has already put Georgetown against Arizona Christian, LSU Shreveport and Park. Congratulations, Coach!

Saturday’s biggest results
Oklahoma Wesleyan makes a statement
No. 11 Oklahoma Wesleyan 89, No. 8 Langston 64
A matchup between two highly ranked teams turned into a 25-point Oklahoma Wesleyan win. That margin deserves attention. Langston entered the weekend ahead of the Eagles in the preseason coaches’ poll, but Saturday belonged to OKWU. It’s early, and one result does not settle the national picture, but this is exactly the kind of nonconference win that makes people take notice.
Arizona Christian closes its trip with a ranked win
No. 3 Arizona Christian 81, No. 9 LSU Shreveport 74
Arizona Christian finished its Remy Classic schedule by beating LSU Shreveport, a day after the Pilots edged Georgetown. The Firestorm had opened this trip with a loss to Georgetown before beating Park on Friday, so Saturday gave ACU consecutive wins to close the event. Three days, three different tests, and a top-10 win to take home.

The Master’s wins its ranked matchup
No. 17 The Master’s 80, No. 11 Keiser 67
Keiser arrived off Friday’s dramatic 66–64 escape at Life Pacific. The Master’s made sure Saturday brought a different result. The Mustangs won by 13 in a matchup of preseason Top 25 teams, bouncing back from an 89–82 loss to Texas A&M–San Antonio to finish their opening weekend 1–1. For Keiser, a road swing with a last-second thriller and a ranked opponent has offered an immediate test.
The Mustangs trailed 37–35 at halftime before winning the second half 45–30. Quincy Phillips led with 19 points, six rebounds and three steals. Caden DeVries added 16 points, eight rebounds and three steals, while Brayden Miner scored 16 and went a perfect 11-for-11 at the foul line.
Talladega keeps our attention
Talladega 98, Faulkner 75
Talladega followed Friday’s 97–90 win over No. 23 William Carey with a 23-point victory over Faulkner, which received votes in the preseason poll. That’s 195 points across two games against opponents already on the national radar. The weekend wasn’t just one good result: the Tornadoes backed it up the next day. Put Talladega on your early-season watch list.

Life gets through another good test
Life 96, Southeastern 91
Two teams receiving preseason votes combined for 187 points, with Life taking the five-point win. The Running Eagles followed Friday’s 80–75 victory over Georgia Southern–East Georgia with another close result on Saturday. Winning a pair of games decided by five points is a productive way to finish the week.
Embry-Riddle edges Oregon Tech
Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) 76, Oregon Tech 73
Embry-Riddle added a three-point win over Oregon Tech to the western weekend’s list of close games. The Owls were coming off Friday’s 84–59 victory over OUAZ, but Saturday’s trip to Prescott ended with the Eagles on top. It’s a useful early result for an Embry-Riddle team that received votes in the preseason coaches’ poll.

Bounce-back wins and more from Saturday
No. 1 Grace 95, Briar Cliff 73: The Lancers responded to Friday’s loss to Morningside with a 22-point win. Twelve Grace players scored, with Ian Raasch contributing 16 points and seven rebounds. That’s a good way to turn the page before Wednesday’s game against Cornerstone. Grace’s official game post
No. 16 College of Idaho 59, Montana Western 39: After losing to Montana Tech on Friday, the Yotes returned to the win column while allowing just 39 points. A 20-point win without needing a big offensive total stands out on a day that also had several high-scoring games. Montana Western’s official Frontier schedule
Montana Tech 96, Park Gilbert 62: Tech followed its win over College of Idaho with a 34-point victory. Two wins, including one against a ranked opponent, made it a productive weekend for the Orediggers. Montana Tech’s official Frontier schedule
Ottawa 83, Haskell 75, overtime: Haskell got a huge all-around game from Parker Baumann, but Ottawa had enough answers to win in an extra period. Jackson Harding supplied 18 points and 11 rebounds, Aries Hull added 18 points, and Seb Khan finished with 14 points, six rebounds and six assists. Baumann’s 31-point, 10-rebound, seven-assist performance deserves attention even in defeat. Ottawa’s official KCAC schedule
Saint Mary 78, Texas Wesleyan 72: The Spires bounced back from Friday’s loss to Langston with a six-point win. Saint Mary’s official KCAC schedule
Saturday’s standout performers
Javion Dailey, Mobile: How about 33 points, 12 rebounds and five steals? Dailey also handed out three assists and made 11 of 13 free throws in Mobile’s 92–88 victory over Pensacola Christian. Dayton Richardson added 19 points and eight rebounds for the Rams. Official SSAC box score
Parker Baumann, Haskell: 31 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and zero turnovers in the overtime loss to Ottawa. Baumann shot 11-for-20 from the field and 6-for-11 from three. That’s an outstanding all-around line, regardless of the result. Official KCAC box score
Jackson Harding, Ottawa: An 18-point, 11-rebound double-double, plus three assists, helped the Braves get through that overtime game. Ottawa outscored Haskell 16–8 in the extra period. Official KCAC box score
Quincy Phillips and Caden DeVries, The Master’s: Phillips’ 19 points, six rebounds and three steals and DeVries’ 16 points, eight rebounds and three steals helped the Mustangs beat ranked Keiser. Both made an impact beyond scoring. Official GSAC box score
Ian Raasch, Grace: 16 points and seven rebounds in the Lancers’ 95–73 win over Briar Cliff. He led a balanced effort that had 12 Grace players reach the scoring column. Grace’s official game post
These are selected standout performances from verified Saturday reports and boxes, not a national statistical leaderboard.

Coaching notebook
Briggs’ 400th career win was Saturday’s milestone. There was also a first-win celebration earlier in the weekend worth recognizing: Nick Jones earned his first win in Friends red on Friday, when the Falcons beat Haskell 94–60. Congratulations to Coach Jones on getting that first one!
