Five Players to Watch

Luke Rankin 6’0 Freshman, Dordt (IA)

Why not throw the Freshman in to this. Rankin had the hot hand last night going for 30pts in his college debut. If he can be that 3rd option alongside of Bleaker and Vas then this Dordt team will be a real factor all season long.

Corey Bowen 6’9 Sr. Point (GA)

2020-21 1st Team All-AAC member

We mentioned him in the AAC Season Preview about being one of the best bigs that you don’t hear a lot about. If you haven’t seen him play, you should tune in!

Jervay Green 6’3 Talladega (AL)

Univ of Nebraska Transfer

We get our first look at this UBER TALENTED Talladega squad today. We could highlight 4-5 guys here, but are super intrigued to see Green lace them up for Dega.

Sindou Diallo 6’3 Sr Montana Tech

2020-21 HM All-American

Diallo is one of the best players in the country. You don’t hear a lot about him since he is out West, but he is one of our favorite players to watch compete!

Tyrell Harper 6’6 Sr. Mount Marty

Harper only played the 2nd semester of last season, but he averaged 15ppg and 9rpg. The NCAA D2 transfer is a tough matchup for teams.

Games of the Day

Mobile (AL) @ Point (GA)

This is a very intriguing SSAC vs AAC matchup here. Point is coming off of a fantastic year in the Appalachian Athletic Conference and return nearly everyone. Mobile loses All-American RJ Kelly, but have some nice pieces coming in. This would still be a nice win to start the season for Point and would be a good road win for Mobile. A lot to prove in this game as you have two programs looking to take the next step up this season!

William Penn @ Governors State 3pm CT – Jaguar Tip-off Championship

Governors State will be looking for a BIG early season win as they host William Penn in the Jaguar Tip-Off Classic Championship game. Hard to not have a Championship game as a GOTD, but especially since WPU is coming off of a hard fought OT battle last night with several players playing major minutes due to injuries. Could the tired legs have the Statesmen on UPSET ALERT today?! Or do they find a way, on the road, to win a Championship today?!
