The Daily Dive is your deep dive into the news and notes from around the NAIA Hoops World. Every day we will highlight some of the top headlines, conference updates, player accolades, coaching milestones and more. This used to be our Morning Bullet Points series. We went away from it this year, as others were doing similar things and we didn’t want to step on any toes. At the request of many, we have elected to bring it back for the second half of the season. Feel free to DM us on Twitter (@NAIAHoopsReport) or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to recommend stories to be included into this segment.
Recap of Yesterday’s Games of the Day:
Vanguard 65 @ Saint Katherine 73 (Full Recap)
Saint Katherine got their revenge from Saturday night as they split the weekend double header with Vanguard. That’s twice now that USK has split with a GSAC opponent as they split with Westmont last weekend as well. Maurice Woods led the way for the Firebirds with 30 points.
MSU Northern 66 @ 10 Providence 78 (Full Recap)
Speaking of getting their revenge from the night before, Providence was able to avenge their 1st loss of the season with a bounce back win yesterday. Providence welcomed back All-American Zaccheus Darko-Kelly who was out on Saturday night and came back to drop 25pts, 9rebs in yesterdays win for the Argos.
Concordia Ann Arbor 62 @ Lourdes 82 (Full Recap)
In a battle between two teams who were undefeated in WHAC play, it was Lourdes who once again ran away with the win. It was a big night for one of our Players to Watch in this game, as Clif Snow became the All-Time leading scorer in Lourdes history. A great accomplishment for a player who has been so good for the Gray Wolves!
With a rather slow Sunday around the NAIA Hoops world we are going to take the time to plug two items:
– If you haven’t listened yet, Junior and Trev did a league breakdown on this weeks NAIA – The Podcast episode! You can also find us on any platform that you listen to your other Podcasts on. Just do a simple search for NAIA – The Podcast. It is the most listened to episode thus far, so you don’t want to miss out!
– Also released last night was our first take on a potential bracket for the NAIA National Tournament. It’s a fun piece, even if we are working to still figure out what the NAIA National Tournament is going to look like!
