The last regular season Weekly Recap By Categories. There were SO many great performances this week. That is what makes selecting the winners both fun and tough at the same time. So many nominees each week who are left out, who very easily could have won! We will have our next “Recap By Categories” After the Conference Tournaments are over.
NAIA MBB WEEK 17 REACP BY CATEGORIES

Best Win of the Week
Southeastern (FL) Fire
The Sun Conference was mostly a two-horse race for much of the season, but SEU ended up just a game back of 1st place after they knocked off #4 Ave Maria. The Fire actually swept Ave for the season.

Upset of the Week
Coastal Georgia over #9 Keiser (FL), 95-90 in OT.
It has been an up and down season for Coastal Georgia. This week actually summed it up well as they lost to Warner earlier in the week prior to beating #9 Keiser. It’s a talented Coastal team, so it’s not a complete surprise they won this game. Especially at home. But at 10-18, the Mariners ended their season on a high note.

Best Game of the Week
#9 Nelson takes down #6 Langston 66-58.
Nelson won the SAC Regular Season Title as they picked up two more road wins this season including a thriller in this win vs Langston. It may not have been pretty offensively, but it resembled the type of game that you see inside Muni for the Round of 16 and beyond. It was physical, it was athletic, it was talent vs talent and overall it was just a really good game to watch.

Offense of the Week
Loyola (LA) Wolf Pack
The Wolf Pack got back to their winning ways with a 2-0 week scoring, 96pts on Blue Mountain Christian and 95pts against UT Southern. A big pare of the offense was Kameron Johnson, who averaged 24ppg, 9assts, 7.5rebs on the week.

MVP of the Week
Avery Jackson, The Master’s (CA)
Avery was back at it again this week as he scored 40pts on Park-Gilbert to go with 9 rebounds and 3assts. He also had 16pts, 7rebs against Benedictine-Mesa. The Senior, in two games vs Park (AZ) this season, has combined for 85pts!

Defensive MVP of the Week
Makeem Roberts, William Carey
Makeem Roberts continues to be a menace on the defensive end of the floor. This past week, he combined for 11 steals, 2blks and 10 rebounds. He had 6 steals in the win vs UT Southern. He now has 8 games of 5 or more steals on the season!

Coach of the Week
Delton Deal, Nelson (TX)
Coach Delton Deal led his Lions to another 2-0 week, this time knocking off Langston, on the road, to seal the SAC Title! Langston had only lost 4x in the past 3 seasons at home. Nelson also went the entire SAC season without losing on the road! Which is simply phenomenal. Coach Deal, time and time again, has proven why he is one of the best in the NAIA!

Defense of the Week
Georgia Gwinnett Grizzlies
The Grizzlies are he won’t and it’s led to them going on an 8-game win streak! This past week their defense was locked in. In the win vs Reinhardt, the Grizzlies gave up just 60pts, as they held the Eagles to just 28.8% from the field and 25% from 3. In the win over Carolina University, the Grizzlies held the Bruins to just 57 points on 38% shooting.

Pippen of the Week
Cole Bowen, Graceland (IA)
The Pippen Award had more nominations than any other award this week, but in the end it’s Cole Bowen, who has only been back playing for five games now, who gets the nod! The All-American dropped 32pts, 10rebs, 5assts in the Yellowjackets win over Grand View and then followed it up with a 15pt, 16reb, 4asst, 2stl, 1blk game in the win over Baker that helped to clinch the Heart of America Title! Keep an eye on Graceland…very underrated team that is dangerous with Bowen back healthy!

Onions of the Week
Jayson Nixon, Southeastern (FL)
Southeastern got the season sweep over #4 Ave Maria. In OT, it was Sophomore, Jayson Nixon, who delivered the game winner!

Sniper of the Week
Delon McCloud, Rio Grande (OH)
Delon tied the Rio single game 3pt record for the 2nd time in the past 3 games! This week he hit 10 3’s vs Kentucky Christian on his way to 41pts. He went 10-13 from behind the Arc! He has hit 21 3’s over the past 3 games!

Stock Riser of the Week
Dalton State (GA)
The Roadrunners hit a major downturn in the middle of the season as they had several guys out due to injury. They are now back to full strength and have rifled off 8 straight wins headed into the SSAC tourney! They won the SSAC East Title earning a 1st round bye! Starting to hit their stride at the best time of the year!

Rodman of the Week
Evan Angstmann, Defiance (MI)
The Sophomore had 33 rebounds in two games this week including a 20-rebound outing in a win vs Aquinas!

Sophomore of the Week
Aiden Cilladi, Trinity Christian
Aiden nearly averaged a triple-double this week as he finished with 12ppg, 10rpg, 8.5apg with 4blks and a steal in another 2-0 week for the Trolls! Coach Osborn has really done a great job managing a difficult situation. The Trolls will host a CCAC tourney game this season as the 4-seed after Coach O took over the job where the previous year they were 6-22 with a 1-19 CCAC record that year. Unfortunate that it is the Trolls last season as a program! Aiden and company will be looking for a new place to play next season!

Freshman of the Week
Korbin Gunn, McPherson (KS)
The Freshman is having an amazing season and it continued this past week. Gunn averaged 22.5ppg, 6.6apg, 2rpg, 2spg this past week including having a 24pt, 10asst game vs #5 Oklahoma Wesleyan. He finished the regular season leading the KCAC in both PPG (19.2) and APG (4.6).

Dunk of the Week
Tyler Allen, Rochester Christian (MI)
Tyler gets the steal and then slams it home for the And 1 in RCU’s game vs Madonna this past Saturday.
