This is posted a little later in the day then normal, but my daughter had her 1yr check up this morning, so thank you for bearing with me! I think we set a new record for most nominees this week. Which always makes it fun, because this segment is supposed to be about you, the players, the coaches, the fans, etc. It makes me happy when people are having fun with our segments! With that, there are SO many great nominees to choose from this week. Certainly, could have gone a lot of different ways with almost every category! If you didn’t win this week, keep trying! Love seeing the nominations coming in!

Week 11 Recap By Categories

Best Win

Grace Lancers

#1 Grace knocked off #10 Indiana Wesleyan, 92-83 and moved to 17-0 on the season. The Lancers are the lone remaining undefeated team left in the NAIA, thanks to Benedictine-Mesa losing on the road to HIU this weekend. Gage Sefton led the Lancers with 17pts. Ian Raasch had 16pts with Gavin Betton (14), Michael Wellman (12) and Ian Raasch (10) all in double figures for the balanced attack! Grace has had six different leading scorers thru 17 games this season!


Upset of the Week

Bethel (TN) Wildcats

Bethel (TN) added a nice win to the resume this week as they knocked off #3 Cumberlands, 80-69 on Thursday. The Win was their best of the season and a really good resume bump!


Best Game of the Week

College of the Ozarks beats #12 Nelson (TX), 109-105 2OT

This game had 19 nominees and deservedly so as it went bonkers! Each team had a 50pt scorer. Andrew Dalton, who scored his 1k career point, went for 50pts, 7rebs for Ozarks. Micah Clark went for 50pts, 10rebs for Nelson. Nelson had 97 shot attempts (54-3’s). Ozarks made 29 FT’s, while shooting 93%. Nelson found themselves down 19 in the 1st half. Battled all the way back to force OT, before eventually losing in 2OT. There were 9 ties and just 2 lead changes for a game that was absolutely amazing!


Offense of the Week

Trinity Christian Trolls

Despite Trinity Christian closing at the end of the season, Coach David Osborn and the Trolls are BATTLING to the very end! This past week they picked up two wins including scoring 106pts against Saint Xavier. Garrett Green averaged 20.5pts, 8rebs, 3.5 assts and .5blks this week. Aiden Cilladi averaged 10.5pts/9.5rpg. The Trolls had a true shooting % of 59.1%, had an EFG average of 62%. Some great advance stats for offensive ratings!


MVP of the Week

Kenata Carbon, Lindsey Wilson (KY)

In two games this week:

vs Campbellsville | 32pts, 5rebs, 2assts

vs Cumberland |33pts, 11rebs, 4assts

He set his career high in back to back games while also having this game winner vs Campbellsville:


Defensive MVP of the Week

Raymond Reece, Philander Smith (AR)

The Manimal was unstoppable again this week. Could have been the overall MVP as well.

vs Huston-Tilloston | 31pts, 16rebs, 4blks, 3stls, 2assts.


Coach of the Week

Drew Stutts, Freed-Hardeman

Freed wins. It’s been true ever since Coach Stutts was named Head Coach. This past week, the Lions beat #16 Georgetown and #3 Cumberlands (KY) in back-to-back games. Really impressive week!

Defense of the Week

Keiser Seahawks

Keiser was once again stingy defensively this week. They held an SEU squad that averages 88ppg, to just 62pts. Then followed it up by only giving up 44pts to Webber International. Big Top 10 matchup this week for Keiser, but playing some of the best defense in the country!

Pippen of the Week

Jackson Cooper, Oregon Tech

Jackson Cooper had a big week as the Owls went 1-1. In the loss to EOU, Cooper had 13pts, 9rebs, 5assts. He followed that up with a triple-double in a win vs RV College of Idaho as he finished with 28pts, 16rebs, 10assts. Big time player who came up big in a bounce back win!


Onions of the Week

Drew Tebbe, Louisiana Christian

Louisiana Christian trailed 75-76 with a second to go. They drew up a SOB play and Drew Tebbe hit the game winner!


Sniper of the Week

Jaheim Berry, Georgia Gwinnett

Not a bad weekend when you can set two new school records. Berry set the GGC single game scoring record at 31pts while hitting 8-3’s vs Haskell. On the weekend he was 11-20 from 3!

Stock Riser of the Week

Eastern Oregon

There were so many options this week. However, Eastern Oregon gets the nod with two big road wins over #20 Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon. Two really good resume wins that also has them now tied for 1st place in the CCC!

Rodman of the Week

Harrison Doennig, Evangel

With Evangel coming off a tough loss, Harrison came up big on Saturday as he went for 4pts and 16 rebounds to help Evangel to a bounce back win over Bethany!

Sophomore of the Week

Tommy Tisdale III, Brewton-Parker Christian

Brewton-Parker Christian went 3-0 this week to move into a tie for 1st place in the SSAC. Tisdale is having a huge season! This week may not even be his best week, but the Sophomore in three wins scored 38pts, grabbed 13rebounds and had 5assts. This is coming off a 31pt outburst. The Barons are a team to keep an eye on out in the SSAC!

Freshman of the Week

Korbin Gunn, McPherson

Korbin is having a really good Freshman season. This past week he had

30pts, 3rebs, 5assts vs York

2rpts, 5rebs, 4assts vs Southwestern.

Dunk of the Week

Oakland City is a real player in the RSC this season! The team is 3-1 in RSC play with multiple players are stepping up big each game! Here is Chris Grubbs dunk from early in the week vs IU Kokomo!
