As you look around at each league around the NAIA there are a few surprises here and there, but ultimately the blue bloods are starting to rise to the top. That doesn’t really make the Top 25 any easier either. There are still about 30-35 teams who have legit arguments for a spot inside the polls. We should get RPI and ARC ratings this week as well. That will help to paint some of the early National Tournament picture. We will see what the Coaches Poll looks like on Wednesday, but for us, we tried to not penalize teams for Covid forfeits. We also, TRIED, to look at box scores in losses, just to verify who was and wasn’t playing for teams. We understand that everyone is going through Covid protocols, BUT not every league has the same rules for affected games. If you punish teams for forfeits or missing players due to positive tests, you can be sure that some of these really good teams are going to have 6-7 losses come tournament time, get back to full strength and are going to have a crazy seeding and some Top 15 team is going to have a crazy tough draw because of it. That is an entire different topic that we can save for our NAIA Bracketology reports. For now though, hope you enjoy!!
